Paradise Ridge Retreat has a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen and outdoor grill for you to prepare some fantastic “home-cooked” meals during your stay. But let’s face it – you’re on vacation! So eating out may be more of what you have in mind at meal time.

Luckily, Bethel and the surrounding area are home to some great restaurants. Below is a list of some of our local favorites. Additional restaurants may be listed here.

    • BBQ food truck in the parking lot of the Good Food Store.

  • Butcher Burger – 188 Main St, Bethel
    • Voted Best Burger in Bethel, 2019 – this casual burger restaurant and beer bar is one of our favorite places to eat in Bethel.
    • The burgers are delicious, the service is great, and they serve a great variety of beers on tap and in bottles.
    • Our recommendation: Too hard to narrow down – it’s all good!

  • Definitive Brewing at Sunday River, featuring the Phoenix Kitchen – 9 Timberline Drive, Newry
    • Beer tasting room downstairs, restaurant upstairs and live music.
  • Cho Sun Sushi Bar & Grill – 141 Main St, Bethel
    • Delicious, flavor-filled Korean dishes, as well as sushi. You can also enjoy their noodle bar at South Ridge Lodge at Sunday River.
    • Our recommendation: Bibimbap, Sushi

    • Voted best Ski Bar in the USA by Skiing Magazine, a trip to Sunday River wouldn’t be complete without a night of apres ski at The Matterhorn.
    • This popular, seasonal (October-April) restaurant offers Neapolitan-style pizza & American eats, cocktails & live music.
    • Our recommendation: Ski Bar Wings appetizer, Buffalo Mac & Cheese, any of their wood-fired pizzas.
  • The Millbrook Tavern – 21 Broad Street, Bethel
    • Casual dining located inside The Bethel Inn Resort
    • The Inn also serves breakfast daily 7:30 am-10:30 am
  • Modern Barn Restaurant & Bar – 19 Summer Street, Bethel
    • Located in the former location of The Funky Red Barn, this new restaurant serves classic comfort dishes with a modern flair.
    • Our recommendation: Prime Rib Night on Thursdays
  • Steam Mill Brewing – (New Location!) 98 Sunday River Road, Bethel
    • This microbrewery serves beer featuring local ingredients such as Maine malt and local hops.
    • New location includes expanded beer and food menu, and live music scheduling.
    • Our recommendation: Paradise Perle

    • Great chicken wings and pizza

    • Located on the access road to Sunday River, the Sunday River Brewing Company offers a fun, casual atmosphere for locals, tourists and craft beer drinkers.
    • The family-friendly menu includes burgers, sandwiches, pizza, salads and pasta.

    • A picturesque 30 minute drive from Paradise Ridge Retreat
    • Seasonal, locally-sourced, funky fine dining with a global twist.
